Working with Y.O.U. at Twiggs Park

Planting Twiggs overlook with YOU

Over the summer, volunteers cleared the area around the Twiggs Park overlook, and yesterday city staff planted more than 40 shrubs and trees. Today, a group from Y.O.U. (Youth and Opportunity United) joined the older volunteers to plant flowers and grasses—just in time for the rains forecast for tomorrow. As the plants settle in, the area will be finished with mulch.

Plantings will continue over the next week at Harbert Park and the Ladd Arboretum. Adult volunteers are needed to help two other Y.O.U. groups plant the area around the Harbert Park overlook this Thursday and next Tuesday, from 4:00-6:00 pm.
